We can generally provide round-trip trucking for all rentals, but you can arrange to have your trucker pick up and return to our storage yard in Manorville, NY if you prefer.
All rentals include a Gateway technician at the load-in and load-out who will work with your technical director in advance of both to help you figure out how to best custom fit the set for your venue and your needs.
42nd Street
Designed as a touring set, our 42nd Street set features drops including Money, Backstage 42nd Street, Backstage Arch Street, Arch Street Exterior, Dames, Broad Street Station, Pretty Lady Scrim, Pink Scrim; along with Light-up and chasing signs for ballet, and large units. Includes a set of 8 small dimes and 1 large dime for "Money." This versatile set is good for many different types of spaces.
9 to 5
Designed by Robert A. Kovach for The Gateway's 2012 production of 9 to 5, our rental set will bring 1970s corporate America to life on your stage! Venetian blind walls, sliding walls, flying units, and rolling units (desks, chairs, toilet stalls and sinks, hospital benches, Xerox machine), and decor for all of the various living room, bedroom, and fantasy sequences. Designed and built for fast changes to keep the action moving!
Ain't Misbehavin'
Designed by Michael Boyer for tour, our Ain't Misbehavin' rental set features three light-up, art-deco portals framed with purple velour legs and borders, with cafe tables and bentwood chairs.
Avenue Q
Designed by Brittany Loesch for The Gateway's production, our Avenue Q rental set is a unit set that features gaslight-brick faced walls, an upper platform for puppeteers and second floor windows.
Beauty and the Beast
Designed by Kelly Tighe for The Gateway as a rental set, and used for The Gateway's 2008 and 2013 productions, our Beauty and the Beast set features a multi level castle unit that moves upstage, downstage, and can complete a 360° rotation. The castle unit features other automation effects, and is compatible with a flying rig (not included). Other locations include Belle's House, Belle's village, and the tavern, and our set also comes with a complete props package, including Maurice's invention (which is computer controlled to achieve a Rube Goldberg machine effect).
Billy Elliot
Our Billy Elliot features movable wall units for Billy's house, the union hall, and the dance studio, along with a movable platform unit that doubled as Billy's bedroom, and the family kitchen. Toilet stalls roll out on a separate wagon. Props package includes barricades, miner's helmets, and riot shields.
Cabaret
Designed by Michael Boyer for The Gateway's production, our Cabaret rental set features a large cabaret stage unit that rolls downstage, complete with lights and traveler tracks, with an orchestra behind. Large rolling units for Cliff's room and hallway. Fruit Shop is a large flying piece.
Camelot
Our Camelot rental set is a touring set that features a large castle, stone walls, etc. Includes two large thrones and climbable tree piece for Wart.
Carousel
Designed by Erhard Rom, our Carousel set is a large set built for an opera stage, but can be scaled down for your production. Carousel created on stage by actors moving elements into place.
Cats
Designed by Kelly Tighe for The Gateway's production, our Cats rental set features a turntable, over-sezed props, and stairs for the Heavyside Layer (although these were not used in our production).
A Chorus Line
Designed as a touring set, our set for A Chorus Line includes eight periaktoi that measure 4' x 16', and hand crank winch for rotation. The three faces are black, Mirror (actual Broadway panels, recovered) and the finale (starburst) side.
Clue
Our Clue set, designed by Kelly Tighe, features three turntables to keep the action moving quickly. Extensive scenery and hand props will help bring this modern farce to life on your stage.
The Drowsy Chaperone
Designed by Brittany Loesch for The Gateway's production, our Drowsy Chaperone rental set features an estensive set and props, including
a plane for the finale. Also includes show deck for upstage portion of set, and a winch for moving pieces on- and off-stage.
Evita
Purchased and refurbished for The Gateway's production, our Evita rental set is a traditional unit set that features three wegaons that slide out from
under the main unit. A central platform rolls downstage for "Casa Rosada." The set has few flying elements and can be used in a venue with limited fly space.
Fiddler on the Roof
Designed by Michael Boyer for The Gateway's production, our Fiddler on the Roof rental set features a house unit with exterior settings that opens up to reveal interiors. The house will support a fiddler on its roof for the opening montage. Includes an extensive props package.
Flashdance
Designed by Brittany Loesch for The Gateway's 2018 production, our Flashdance rental set features a multi-leveled design and faux-metal work to evoke Alex's world made of steel. Vending machine includes hidden switch for the drink release. Dance academy windows fly out. Individual bar unit, tables, dance platform, and drape for Harry's, rolling pole platforms for Chameleon's, bed wagon unit for Alex's apartment and Hannah's apartment. Water effect and platform to catch spillage included.
The Full Monty
Designed by Kelly Tighe for The Gateway's production of The Full Monty, our The Full Monty set features multiple wagon pieces and scenery that are designed to fly and travel. Includes car and all props. All wagons move in grooved tracks - no automation. Full show deck consists of ¾" and ½" ply laminated together. Flying pieces constructed out of 1½" tube steel. Monty sign wired for many different chase options.
Funny Girl
Designed and built to tour, our Funny Girl set features a full set of hard masking legs, four rolling units, a Follies portal, chase lights, and a set of back drops. This is a versatile set that will work in a variety of venues.
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum
Our set for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum is a traditional unit set featuring three houses in Roman frons-style with two levels to each house, and painted in vivid colors. The set will fit into a 35' - 45' proscenium.
Grease
Designed by Edward Gianfrancesco for The Gateway's production, our Grease rental set features a unit set with two levels and a lazy susan revolve under platforms to facilitate smooth transitions and continuous action through the show.
Gypsy
Designed by Michael Boyer for The Gateway's production, our Gypsy rental set features a set comprised of several smaller units that are designed to move on and off stage quickly to facilitate smooth scenery transitions. The back wall of theatre is a hard piece rigged to fly to reveal the cyc. The train unit is designed to accommodate fire extinguishers to create the steam effect.
Head Over Heels
Our Head Over Heels rental package is adapted from the Broadway set, designed by Julian Crouch. The package features scenery for the royal court of Arcadia, forest locations, the Isle of Lesbos, the royal camp, and extensive props package.
Jekyll and Hyde
Designed by Larry W. Brown for The Gateway's production, our Jekyll and Hyde rental set incorporates furniture, props, drops, and scenic units from the Broadway production. This is a multi-leveled design including a center "slip stage" used in many scene changes. Lab table is "pyro ready" as are certain scenic elements and props.
Jersey Boys
Our Jersey Boys set features an upstage platform structure and moving staircase (with air brakes), along with wagons for the many locations in the story of The Four Seasons. An ample prop package is included, and our projection media is available for licensing.
Kiss Me Kate
Our Kiss Me Kate rental set is a traditional unit set that features connected dressing rooms unit for Lilly and Fred. Hallway fly unit with four doors. Major upstage bridge unit and arch doorways for Taming of the Shrew scenes including a working fountain and grape crushing barrel. Extensive package of furniture props included.
La Cage aux Folles
Our La Cage aux Folles rental set was designed by Kelly Tighe for the Gateway's production. The set features multiple levels and an automated revolve.
Legally Blonde
Designed by Robert A Kovich for The Gateway's production, our Legally Blonde rental set features multiple wagon pieces and scenery that is designed to fly and travel. The many locations of Elle's journey of self-discovery move on- and off-stage quickly and easily to keep the action moving.
Les Miserables
Our Le Miserables rental set was designed by Todd Ivins for the Walnut Street Theatre's production. The set is designed to work without a turntable; all of the walls travel on scenery carriers (traveller track not included), and large chandelliers and Javert's bridge fly. Please note that there are no furniture or props included with this set.
Man of La Mancha
Our Man of La Mancha rental set features a naturalistic design with gray stones and large central stair unit. Includes grating and other decor for the dungeon.
Me and My Girl
Designed by Michael Boyer for The Gateway's production, our Me and My Girl rental set was built to tour. The mansion can be one or two stories, and revolves. The set is built to work with or without a fly system, and can accommodate a wide array of spaces.
The Music Man
Designed by Michael Boyer for The Gateway's production of The Music Man, our traditional set features a train compartment, bridge, a large, two-sided house unit, and the other furniture and decore necessary to bring this heartwarming comedy to life.
Nunsense / Nunsense 2 / Nunsense A-Men
Designed by Michael Boyer for The Gateway's production, our Nunsense rental set can be used for Nunsense 2 and Nunsense A-men in addition to the original Nunsense. The set features a naturalistic gym interior, complete with bascketball backboards, gym doors, &c (the audience can make free throws during intermission). Includes props and set pieces for Grease and The Mikado.
Oklahoma!
Our Oklahoma! rental set features two main units, visible throughout most of the show that revolve for the various barns and houses. Judd's house is a separate unit. Corn, ranch fence, Little Wonder, and other dressing and western props are included with this show.
Peter Pan
Designed by Michael Boyer for The Gateway's production, our Peter Pan, is built to work in conjunction with Flying By Foy or ZFX flying rig, including large nursery windows. Complete nursery splits apart in 8 seconds for end of Act One flying sequence. Second act "Neverland" revolves to reveal "Underground". The pirate ship for Act III is likewise rigged for "flying" battle.
Phantom (Kopit-Yeston version)
Designed by George Puello for The Gateway, our Phantom rental set is a unit set, featuring the orchestra on 10' platform (can accommodate between 10 and 12 players) faintly visible thru set, and tracked deck-pallets come from upstage, chandelier (can be rigged to crash!) dry ice vents, spiral stairs, motorized boat, lots of light up special effects.
Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
Designed by Stanley A. Meyer for The Gateway's 2016 production of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, our Priscilla, Queen of the Desert set features the titular bus fitted for interior and exterior scenes, and with swappable panels for the defacement and re-painting of the bus in the "Colour My World" number. The bus unit will make a full 360° rotation, as well as move up and down stage. Sliding show portals frame the action, and additional scenes include The Cockatoo Club, Les Girls stairs/back drop, Alice Springs Casino and dressing room, Ayers Rock, and more!
Rent
Designed by Brittany Loesch for The Gateway's 2017 production, our Rent rental set is a multi-level unit set that features gaslight brick facing, and re-creations of period decor, along with a climbable junk sculpture, to bring Jonathan Larson's vision of 1990s New York to life!
Saturday Night Fever
Designed by Adam Koch for The Gateway's 2015 production of Saturday Night Fever, and modified for the 2017 North American tour, our Saturday Night Fever set features dual-purpose units for downtown and the the disco/dance studio, wagons for Tony's bedroom and his families house, a bridge structure, and a disco wall designed to be backlit. Koch's design brings the gritty streets of 1970s New York City into contrast with the glitz and glamour of disco nightlife.
Singin' in the Rain
Designed to tour by Jeff Modereger's, our Singinapos; in the Rain set features a large set of upstage stairs that conceal a rain deck that pulls out like a trundle bed, and a fully functioning rain rig. The numerous scene changes are designed to move the show quickly. Includes Hollywoodland drop and extensive props package.
The Sound of Music
Our The Sound of Music set is designed for a conventional staging of show, and making use of the practice of "in one" drops to mask changes. Large, good looking house revolves for interior and exterior scenes.
Thoroughly Modern Millie
Designed by Kelly Tighe for The Gateway's production, our Thoroughly Modern Millie rental set features three fully automated turntables, and automated elevator capable of ascending seven feet. Available supertitle package runs on Microsoft Powerpoint Remote. A props and soft goods package is included with this set, including a set of rolling steno desks and typewriters.
Titanic
The Gateway's Titanic set was designed to tour! The set features a motorized bridge unit that can adjust on one side for the sinking of the ship
at the end of the play, and includes a large props package. Our Titanic set will accommodate a broad variety of spaces and configurations.
Tommy
Designed by Michael Boyer, and inspired by the Broadway design, our Tommy set keeps the show in constant motion. It features a full stage tracked deck and four hand-operated winches for moving scenery; eight aluminum lighting towers, two aluminum television towers, and a 30' flying bridge. Winner of the 1997 Connecticut Critics Circle Award for best set!
